This contractor provided cost of living support to their team to recognise an issue that impacts all of the team and offer a level of support, despite the issue being caused by outside factors beyond the companies direct control. This set a precedent and let the employees know that the wellbeing of them and there families is being considered by the employer.
This could encourage companies to demonstrate the importance of all their staff and show that they look beyond issues that may effect them during the working day. The financial assistance was well received but the arranging of a function where reassurance and the reminder that the directors doors are always open for anyone who needed anything was also well received.
Directors have also offered to mentor staff in other areas if staff feel they could benefit from this, not necessarily in construction related skills.
