GRAHAM Construction engage in a number of outreach and community programmes and have proactively worked with Chance 2013, a recruitment agency that works with ex-offenders and is committed to their reintroduction into the workplace.

GRAHAM Construction and Chance 2013 partnered to find an ideal candidate – 52-year-old John – who volunteered to undertake a two-week on-site placement to prove his commitment and dedication to work. The Project Manager was so impressed that he placed John with our groundworks supplier Hawkspear.

After the placement, Hawkspear Contracts approached the Managing Director of Chance 2013 to offer John sustainable employment with them.

Chance 2013’s Managing Director said:

“John had been unemployed for some time and wanted to make sure that everything would go well and he would feel comfortable back in work. Working with Louise Seddon GRAHAM Construction, we were able to arrange a placement at the Liverpool FC retail site, where work is taking place to build a new fan superstore.

Everyone was impressed with John’s attitude to work and the way he engaged with his team members and people across the site. We are all delighted at how he has changed his life around and is moving forward.”

John said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity and am very grateful to everyone who has supported me and given me this chance”
