Creating site speed limits for plant on site

The responsible movement of vehicles around site is essential to ensure that the health and wellbeing of everyone on site is maintained.

Below is an example of how a site reinforced the importance and obedience of speed limits when operating on site:

  • Most plant vehicles do not have speedometers and therefore they cannot assess their actual speed and cannot be sure they are sticking to the site speed limit;
  • To overcome this issue this site replaced 5mph speed limit signs with Walking Pace (WP) signs.
