Cycle Safety Pocket Cards

Sharing the Scheme’s aim to raise awareness of cycle safety, Gabriel Square Project is promoting CCS best practice initiative ‘Spotlight on… Cycle Safety’ by creating ‘’Cycle Safety Pocket Cards’’.

The cards outline some very important things every driver must consider. These are issued to all delivery drivers visiting our project; by our traffic marshal:

  • Get your mind in gear before getting behind the wheel;
  • Plan ahead to find the most suitable route for your vehicle;
  • Mirrors, indicators and other devices can help you share the road safely – check your vehicle equipment is clean and working before setting off;
  • Look out for cyclists, particularly at junctions, and check your nearside blind spot every time you turn left;
  • Indicate in good time when you turn or change lanes and help others stay safe;
  • Allow at least as much space as you would for a car, when overtaking a cyclist on the road.
