Double Height No Drill and Fix Edge Protection

We have implemented an alternative edge protection solution. Rapid EPS is a fall-protection system, simply comprising of posts and panels clipping together to create a barrier. We utilise two panels on top of each other to create full-height edge protection around the entire perimeter of the slab.

Prior to arriving to site, all products are fully tested by Lloyd’s British Test House, and have been proven to meet and exceed the test requirements set out in the standard for temporary edge protection-BS EN 13374:2013 for Class A and Class B.

The panels have an integrated toe-board, preventing anything coming off the side of the structure. However, as there may be some minor level deviations in concrete, we have introduced foam lagging to the bottom of each panel.

The posts are the only other component of the system. Rapid posts use a compression mechanism, rather than traditional drill and fixing. This means that there is no penetration of the concrete slab and no tools are required to install. Each post has a safety device, resembling a red flag to clearly indicate correct assembly, making inspections simple but effective. The entire system is installed whilst our Safety Screens are in place, eliminating any working at height during initial install.

We also arrange for EPS training on site for anyone who may need to install, remove, adjust or adapt any EPS. Hard-hat stickers are issued to everyone who has completed the training, providing a simple and effective way of ensuring only trained and competent personnel alter the edge protection.
