Dry Lining Material Handling Trollies

On our project at the London School of Economics Centre Buildings Redevelopment, our supply chain partner BDL, of the Carey Group, has developed material handling solutions to increase efficiency and enhance safety.

Through experience and trials on site, the team have been pivotal to the production of broad trollies with adjustable clamps to secure boards, pump trollies which enable full packs of boards to be delivered to the workforce.

The stud and pump trollies eliminate a handling operation where packs are unloaded and broken down for distribution. This also reduces waste and in the case of the plasterboard, a manual handling-free strategy. The plasterboard sheets are then at an ergonomic height for the fixer at the workface enhancing health and wellbeing for those involved.

Loads are also kept secure during transportation on the vertical modules with adjustable clamps. There is also no reason why these developments cannot be utilised by other trades.

All round, these solutions have been a great success and will improve safety on the remainder of this scheme and on projects to come.
