Dust is a very common issue for the construction industry.

Dust not only poses a health hazard for those working on site, but it is also the root cause of many complaints made by the public.

Therefore it is essential that appropriate methods are adopted to minimise the risk of dust on sites, to safeguard workers wellbeing.

This site suppressed dust by using the following working equipment:

  • A product was used to reduce the amount of dust produced from sweeping;
  • It is a compound of materials with a sand like appearance, which is laid on the floor in front of a broom before any sweeping commences;
  • Due to the nature of the material, a relatively small amount can be used to clean up a larger area;
  • It consumes any dust or debris on the floor and therefore reduces and can eliminate dust arisings from sweeping;
  • This comes in different mixes which are more suitable for different jobs, so the type of product needs to be considered.
