E-cigarette Smoking Areas

Any attempts to provide support for worker welfare is important to promote a greater awareness of longterm health and wellbeing both on and off-site.

Although adopting the e-smoking approach is not putting a full stop to smoking habits, it can offer a potential alternative to cigarettes.

E-cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular as a way to reduce and eventually quit smoking altogether due to their lower tobacco content.

Taylor’s Hoists (Elliott Thomas Group) demonstrated a way of encouraging staff on site to quit smoking:

  • A slightly more creative approach to the site’s smoking area was taken by planting flowers and herbs in and around the location;
  • The idea was to create a more attractive and pleasant smoking environment for e-cigarette users, encouraging other cigarette users to make the switch and use this area;
  • The company’s aim with this initiative was to slowly reduce the number of cigarette users and support them on their road to quitting.
