Eco-Tower Lights

This project is required to reduce its embodied carbon by 10% and contribute to the companies Carbon Strategy of Zero Carbon by 2050. One initiative put in place by the project team was Eco-Tower (VT-Hybrid lights) which have been used for access and temporary works lighting as against the traditional diesel engine tower lights.

The Eco Tower Light is highly efficient fuel powered unit that can offer a 72% reduction in running (fuel) costs and harmful emissions when compared with standard metal halide units. These are hybrid light towers equipped with LED floodlights powered by a rechargeable battery pack and HVO fuel.

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a completely renewable diesel alternative based on vegetable oils, grease waste, or residues from e.g. food industry and can offer up to 90% reduced net CO2 emissions without the cost of changing hardware.
