This contractor has installed an electric composter which reduces food scraps by 90% within hours, offering a sustainable solution to waste management, this is qquipped with 2 activated carbon filters, to ensure the canteen remains smell-free.

The composters robust mixing system utilises large blades to process, dry, and grind kitchen waste into fine particles, ready to pour straight onto the soil.

Typically, food waste is collected from site fortnightly, but some sites generate nowhere near enough waste to justify a full bin. By introducing an on-site composter, they have eliminated the need for specialist waste collection vehicles to travel to site, significantly reducing the project’s carbon footprint.
