To avoid key management issues previously faced, regarding non-return and loss of keys, the contractor has developed a riser booking solution which combines existing Datascope products to create a fully integrated system. The Datascope products being consolidated include:

  • Permit system – enables the electronic submittal of permits and denies access from site unless the permit is signed off by a riser coordinator.
  • Riser booker system – allows for the booking and management of riser access slots.
  • Photos – pictures are added to the riser booking system through the Datascope electronic permit as proof of completion.
  • Datakey – the management and issue of access keys through biometric verification.
  • QR Checker – contains QR information points on doors which operatives can scan to review access.
  • Site Documents App – ensures the completion and management of all above systems.

The riser management system possesses numerous benefits including increased efficiency when approving and rejecting riser permits, preventing delays and abortive works by ensuring multiple contractors don’t book the same space and maintaining quality through condition photographs of the riser(s) pre and post activity.

The system follows company health and safety standards and allows for a full audit trail of riser occupancy and combats key management issues regarding non-return and loss of keys.

Access from site is denied unless the permit form is signed off by a riser coordinator.
