Emergency procedures on site

Every precaution should be made to protect and care for your workforce.

Due to the nature of the construction industry a number of hazards are posed to operatives on a daily basis, therefore it is essential that plans and emergency procedures are in place and effectively communicated to the workforce.

Below are examples of emergency measures, which have been implemented on this site:

  • A first aid kit was provided, which included the standard kit, as well as items to deal with burns and bodily fluids, blankets and respiratory protection masks;
  • Exit signs were stencilled on the blockwork throughout the building, so anyone could instantly see where they were and the location of the nearest exit;
  • An emergency call box was clearly signposted and installed at each level on the site. This call box contained a radio, which was set to the channel to call the site office directly.
