Enforcing site speed limits

The responsible movement of vehicles around site is essential to ensure that the health and wellbeing of everyone on site is maintained.

Below is an example of how a site reinforced the importance and obedience of speed limits when operating on site:

  • To ensure that all drivers obey the site rules during their time on site, each driver was provided with an information sheet which confirms that the site speed limit is 5mph and that the main haul road has a speed gun permanently placed and operational;
  • If the speed limit is exceeded then that driver’s management is informed accordingly.
