Enhanced Authorisation Procedure for Working

This project has recently introduced an enhanced authorisation procedure for when their workforce are required to work within two metres and cannot comply with Public Health England’s guidance on social distancing.

The procedure has been prepared to highlight as a refresher of the key words stated in the hierarchy of control table in the Construction Leadership Council’s – Site Operating Procedures. These are printed at the bottom of the form as an aid memoire for assisting the workforce to comply with the guidelines and guidance.

The form is designed too protect our workforce by:

  • Capturing the names of  operatives involved in the task
  • Request signature that they are personally satisfied that the condition of their mask is fit for purpose at time of use (if not they can replace before use free of charge)
  • Confirms BS category of mask used ie FFP2 or FFP3
  • Records time task starts and finishes
  • Records Total duration
This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
