Ensuring High Standards Across Sites

It is vital that projects are completed to a high standard and waste produced on site is reduced at every given opportunity.

Outlined below is a system that has been developed to ensure uniformity of standards on various sites.

This system has proved effective to reduce waste, whilst also providing a training aid for the workforce:

  • A container was used to pre-construct sample house areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, to demonstrate exactly how work was to be carried out in the houses;
  • Where necessary, dimensions for the positioning of items such as pipe and electrical connections were included;
  • This demonstration room was used as a teaching aid to ensure uniformity, high standards and best practice;
  • As the model room was created in a container, it could be moved to other sites.

Providing a system to ensure a high standard of workmanship and uniformity helps to prevent mistakes and poor detail.

Using a mobile model on other sites, may enable the similar standards to be adopted across the industry.
