Envirohorn Drain Filters

Road gulleys are a fairly innocuous item in the road and most people do not realise that they are there. But as part of the new road alignment at East Wick & Sweetwater SIW the project team took part of the existing road network and therefore surface drainage into the site area, due to this there was a possibility of the run off entering the surface drainage system.

Due to this they installed Green Rhino Envirohorn Drain Filters at each gully location to capture any surface run off or oil leaks preventing it entering the drainage system. There are two types of drain filters available Oil and Sediment and Sediment only, due the use of a 1200T crane and various plant activities Oil and Sediment filters were installed.

The material in the filter captures any oils that are released and retains them in a safe manner. The filters when no longer required can be disposed of as general waste rather than hazardous waste.
