Eye Test Chart

We have put up two eye charts in the site canteen – the Snellen Chart and the Tumbling E Chart. This gives the operatives a chance to see if their eyesight needs checking professionally by an optician. We have tried this on several sites in the past, and the operatives find it a bit of fun, but with a serious side. This may help someone who doesn’t realise they might actually need glasses.

There is both a health and safety side to keeping you eyes regularly checked, as poor eyesight can lead to fatigue, headaches and increased stress, as well as impacting on your ability to do a potentially hazardous job. The above can simply be done by downloading the charts, putting them up on the wall, and putting a line on the floor at the correct distance to view the charts from. Several operatives have since gone to see an optician as a follow up, and indeed needed glasses.
