Heron Bros staff and supply chain benefit from training and development to help their workforce develop key life skills.

Heron Bros initially partnered with social enterprise firm ‘Kith & Kin Financial Solutions’ to hold a one-hour workshop on financial well being for site employees.

• The workshop offered employees free and confidential financial advice and solutions;
• The session covered basic financial topics, but also the impact of financial stress and how to promote financial well being in your life through managing mortgages, pensions, savings, investments, credit cards, benefits etc.

Feedback from the site employees suggested that they want to know if there is any support for individuals and families who are in severe financial difficulty. Heron Bros followed on from the financial wellbeing workshop and partnered with the Simon Community.

• The charity came to the site and provided free and confidential advice on the financial and wellbeing support for individuals and families who are on the verge of homelessness
• The session covered information on the support available and who to talk to. It also raised awareness of what is homelessness and the shocking statistic that most people are only ever two pay cheques away from being homelessness.
