Double Knock Fire Alarm Warning System

Mace’s Greenwich Peninsula Upper Riverside team has developed a fire alarm scheme in conjunction with WES Wireless Fire Alarm Systems.

The new fire alarm system includes a double knock two stage alert system which gives Mace site managers a 10 minutes warning before activating the site wide alarm.

This allows the management team to investigate the cause of the fire alarm and determine whether full or isolated evacuation is needed. The introduction of this system has led to a significant reduction in unnecessary evacuation due to false alarm set offs.

The system also doubles as a first aid alarm system which provides a first aid point on all levels of the construction site.

The system emits a different sound for medical emergencies and consequently has led to a decrease in the emergency response time.
