First Aid Forum

On this project the first responder alongside the ex services personnel, have set up a first aid forum.

The forum is designed to support all first aiders on the project, with monthly meetings, a WhatsApp group for communication and refresh skills sessions.

It occurred to them that they prepare on projects with training and plans but without regular refreshers they can lose confidence in their training and forget things. The forum will help build that confidence and give an open discussion for potential events planning and reviewing past incidents in order to learn from them.

The process in which they respond to first aid incidents is also being adapted, they use the WhatsApp group to notify all first aiders and therefore finding the closest person and reducing potential response times to incidents.

This is reviewed regularly and continue to adapt and develop the forum to ensure they are taking care of all those who volunteer as first aiders and maintain the safety of everyone on site.
