Golf charity day in aid of the Lighthouse Club

The London City Island charity golf day was held on the 5th May 2016 in aid of The Lighthouse Club charity.

The Lighthouse Club exists to provide financial assistance, welfare and wellbeing advice and emotional and legal support to the construction community to relieve hardship and stress. Promote initiatives aimed at avoiding accidents and improving safety on construction sites. Support educational initiatives aimed at improving employment conditions and career opportunities within the construction industry. Support and deliver local and national events that embrace networking, fundraising and fellowship within the construction industry.

The course chosen was Chart Hills Golf Club in Biddenden, Kent. It was the first course designed by professional golfer Sir Nick Faldo back in 1993. Since then the course has matured into one of the best in the south of England. It is recognised as a course which offers diversity and challenge all laid out in a stunning location within the high Weald of Kent.

It was a great turn out on the day with 28 players attending, including teams from Madigan Gill, Alltech Roofing, EMS, Copley, Landmark Brickwork, S&R London and Ballymore.

We managed to raise £708 in the end for the Lighthouse Club charity which will help them continue their charitable work.
