Golf Clubhouse Re-Use

The site team at Binfield Learning Village advised the client not to demolish a golf course clubhouse as planned, so that it could be used as a welfare area for Mace and its subcontractors.

Financially this saved the client £146,359, as originally the cabins would have cost £221,559 for the duration of the project, and it cost just £75,200 to modify and make usable for the purposes of site welfare including the fitting of PIRs to save energy use.

Environmentally, this has allowed the Mace team to have welfare facilities with very good insulating qualities to save energy use.

This also eliminated the need for the materials and cabins needed to set up a normal welfare because the team reused existing furniture and facilities within the building.
