Hazard and site safety systems

Promoting safety systems on site, filtered down from management, ensures that everyone understands key safety messages and are kept up to date with potential risks.

Safety is key within a construction environment and the right safety attitudes and behaviours should be encouraged.

Excellent safety measures and procedures should be in place, if accidents, injuries or serious incidents are to be minimised.

A number of sites have taken the following measures to enforce key safety behaviours:

  • Induction and management processes were designed to encourage a safety behaviours system, in place for all operations;
  • Safety issues were signed off prior to commencement of any task;
  • A prominently positioned ‘Look Ahead’ or hazard board provided current hazards and site issues.
