Hazard Board Fingerprint System
All sites must ensure operatives are aware of site health and safety policy and notified of daily hazards. While most sites display this information, it can be difficult to ensure that operatives are reading and taking in the information.
See the examples below for how one site addressed this:
- Installed a biometric fingerprint recognition system at the turnstile to the working area.
- The turnstile will not operate unless a similar fingerprint pad has been activated at the hazard board.
- This system is designed to ensure that the daily hazards are examined by all operatives.
This simple system encourages operatives to pause at the hazard board and take in the information before entering the working area, therefore enhancing safety awareness on site.
