Health and Safety Day

The M5 project site stood down for a Safety Day with a fun twist.

A communication was given by Richard Turnbull (Project Lead) and Peter Smith (Highways England).

The communication focused on recent incidents, teamwork and also the look ahead programme. A number of awards were presented for positive interventions.

There was a stall which focused on health matters with bottles of water and fresh fruit available for everyone and a presentation on Fairness, Inclusion and Respect with DVD clips playing.

Virtual reality lorry loading and two games of skill against the clock for excavator operators loading tyres into a pile and blocks into a wall were available.

There was tug of war, 5 a side football and also an assault course with teams from staff and the workforce entering and competing with and also against each other.

A great day was had by everyone with a huge amount of teamwork and learning achieved.

The Midlands Air Ambulance also benefited from the day with £1037.50 being raised from the raffle.
