Health and Safety Observations Tracking with all Project Stakeholders using BIM 360

The project team and sub-contractors take the ‘Don’t Walk Past It’ approach with regards to health and safety and are expected to address potential hazards or concerns on the spot.

To do this they use their BIM 360 platform universally to communicate and record health and safety observations and to track the actions taken until approved and closed or highlight what is outstanding.

All sub-contractors on site are contractually obligated to use to BIM 360 to capture health and safety observations as well as share best practice. All observations of unsafe H&S practices, conditions and equipment are captured on BIM 360 Field for record keeping of the observation including details of corrective actions implemented by the offending company and also for trend analysis. It allows them to easily create and schedule reports for the project or specific sub-contractors which are automatically issued to the sub-contractors and site management teams to ensure action is completed.

Before commencing any works on site, all appointed sub-contractors complete and submit a detailed a Risk Assessment and Method Statement including the risks, methodology and precautions relevant to their works. This RAMS is reviewed by site management including the health and safety team, commented on, revised as necessary by the subcontractor and then accepted. It is then shared on a document control system.
