Health checks

Offering regular health checks to the workforce can help to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Health checks are important to ensure that workers are taking care of themselves. It can also help to proactively identify any potential health risks.

Examples of health checks which have been provided include:

  • Immunisation injections for flu, tetanus and hepatitis were offered;
  • Free blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes checks and advice on adopting a healthy lifestyle, were made available to everyone on site;
  • A dehydration colour chart was displayed in the toilets, to help operatives recognise the symptoms of dehydration;
  • A specific health monitoring station, to check heart, blood pressure and other factors, was set up in the compound for all members of staff.
