Ardmore are developing a regeneration project in Lewisham and have been on site for 5 years at Heathside, Lethbridge and Parkside.
In the early days of the development the residents had mixed views in regards to the major works that were going to be carried out in their living enviroment and the impact on how their daily lives would be disrupted.
Ardmore have worked very hard to build and gain the confidence from the residents and continue to build strong relationships with the community.
The most recent event held at the community centre with residents, was to raise money for Help for Heroes, which was the charity chosen by all in attendance at the event.
Ardmore formed a forum and held several meetings to plan the event which included decisions on how the event would be run which included advertising and also provided information to the residents association and the steering group committee.
On the day itself in conjunction with the committee members who are residents we held the event in the local community centre. The event entailed collections of bric-a-brac, food and refreshments and merchandise supplied by Help for Heroes.
On the day Ardmore were delighted to collect a total of £450.05 and this was donated to Help for Heroes.
The response from the charity was very positive and this money will go towards ‘Healing Wounds’ which supports soldiers that have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.
