Helping the Community Light up for Christmas

Across Argyll and Bute, the project team have worked with community groups and other local businesses to support putting up christmas trees and christmas lights. Given the challenges of 2020, this seemed more important than ever.

In Dunbeg, the community council asked for the contractor to provide a cherry picker and labour to help put the lights on their Christmas tree. They were happy to help and especially to work together with their construction contractors to support putting the tree and lights in place.

Following the success of this tree, a local forestry contractor donated another Christmas tree so the contractors client asked them to support the community by supplying lights and erecting the additional tree. With not much time to go until Christmas, once it was confirmed the right insurances were in place, they managed to obtain a set of lights and the team put up the tree ready for West Highland Housing to connect the lights up.

They were really pleased to be able to provide some additional Christmas cheer to the area in which they are doing a significant amount of work. Feedback from the community via social media has been very positive and has allowed them to further promote #loveconstruction. It was also great to see the team work with other industry contractors and their client further promoting community benefits from the construction industry.
