Hi-viz manhole blockers

Potential risks should be identified and minimised as much as possible to make your site safe.

The safety of operatives, visitors and the general public should be at the forefront of constructors minds when planning and operating on site.

Potential hazards should be identified and measures implemented to minimise these risks.

Sites have reduced the risk of falls, relating to open manholes by implementing the following:

  • Hi-viz manhole blockers were installed;
  • These are one-piece plastic units that sit on the manhole cover and prevent falls into the open chamber;
  • The blocker is fixed in place underneath the opening and forms a hi-viz pyramid shape visible above ground level.
