Homeless Employment
Having witnessed high levels of rough sleeping around Leeds, we wanted to help make a difference. We targeted two homeless people to employ on site and develop their skills. To start with we found this difficult, however we had a break through with a local organisation to Leeds called ‘Engage’.
They help people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness get a life structure and part of that is employment. This makes a massive difference to, not only the persons involved, but their wider family, children and the city. We are really proud to have had the chance to work with Engage and would encourage any other site to do the same in Leeds.
We put both people through their CSCS and kitted them out with full PPE. They have settled in excellently and have a good chance of long term employment post completion with the contractors.
