Wardian London have been exploring different ways to enrich the day-to-day flow of communication with our trades and suppliers. We have adopted a range of technologies that provide more efficient ways of capturing onsite issues from implementation and actioning.
A-site is currently being used for snagging and closing defects. It provides a localised database where all defects relating to a particular floor or location are stored. Users, with access across all trade contractors, can view and action on site. Its records the dates, who is responsible and other information. This is currently being used on site with fit-out contractors.
Bluebeam is also being used. It allows multiple users to seamlessly modify, create and review documentation whilst reducing the amount of paper used in the office and ultimately our carbon footprint. Previously managers would records findings and annotate on drawings, notepads or pieces of paper to show where changes were to be implemented or to highlight snags.
The process of collecting information on site to review back in the office had problems as often the documents which were highlighted would get lost, information captured would not be readable and required re-printing which would consequently result in lost time. With A-Site and Bluebeam, this information is accessible electronically and can be modified on site with the up-to-date relevant information being relayed back to office where onsite managers and office managers can exchange information and action.
