Improving Environmental Performance on Site: Trialling Hybrid Excavators

Ways to improve your sites environmental performance should be sought.

Sites should carefully consider their working methods and the impact of machinery upon the environment.

Below is an example of how a site trialled hybrid excavators to improve efficiency and air quality:

  • Hybrid excavators were sourced from outside the UK with improved fuel, CO2 efficiency and improved air quality in the vicinity of the works;
  • Successful trialling will encourage and support manufacturers to explore further improvements and the use of hybrid motors on other forms of plants.

The environmental advantages associated with more efficient fuel use, reduction in emissions and improved air quality in the vicinity of the plant will benefit the whole of society and provide a clear indication of an industry committed to sustainable practice.
