Improving Wellbeing with FitBit Technology

We decided to run and monitor a FitBit weekly competition, these are freely issued to our supply chain. Monitoring the health and wellbeing of the workforce is paramount to achieving a cohesive working environment whereby everyone shares common goals and improves interaction across trades that may not always receive the interaction on the work-face.

The site did this by tracking:

  • Sleep achieved – lack of sleep data leads to conversation away from construction related issues
  • Heart rate – see when peaks and troughs to ascertain health and well being along with discussions on easy methodology of construction
  • Steps achieved – data is collected and points awarded towards supplier and worker of the week award
    plus many more.

Overall, this has proven a cost effective and easy way to boost morale and interaction with our workforce and will be rolled out to all new companies starting onsite also.
