Inclusion of Supported Learning Students

On Friday the 30th of November 2018, ISG at Richmond-upon-Thames college (RUTC) had a visit from a group of supported learning students from the neighbouring college. Construction Manager Pui Wong organised the students to come in to help with a site sustainability project. The purpose of the students’ visits was to install plants around the site to improve the site’s image. The students and their teachers enjoyed the day and agreed to undertake the maintenance of the plants going forward.

On Thursday the 23rd of May 2019, ISG management had another visit from the same group of supported learning students from RUTC. The students arrived onto site to spend part of their day installing the plants which had been procured by ISG in advance. The first task the planters faced was to remove the old plants from the soil, which they put into recycling bags.

The students then had to remove the new plants from their pots and place them into the freshly dug holes in the soil. The students then proceeded to water the newly installed plants and finished the day by posing for some photos. The ISG management team were extremely impressed and grateful for the students’ efforts and look forward to the future maintenance work of the supported learning students.
