Injury Workshop

In order to raise awareness of the short and long term effects of injuries sustained both in the workplace and at home, the site held an interactive workshop to illustrate the the importance of PPE and safe working practices.

The workshop was focused on 5 main themes: Eye injuries, hearing loss, arm injuries, leg injuries and working under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Exercises included blindfold exercises, miming/lip reading, every day chores using just one arm, wheelchair use for everyday chores and with the use of beer goggles some simple dexterity exercises to illustrate how judgement and performance is impaired.

They also displayed information on Skin cancers, asbestosis, silicosis, Weil’s disease and Coronavirus and facts and figures around workplace accidents and injuries.
