Instaboom GS6 Overhead Barrier
This mobile barrier is a solar powered solution to overhead protection. It is a first in the industry and there is currently nothing similar on the market.
Currently, the industry relies on signs, goalposts and blue cones. A system that stops a vehicle that is too high from passing through was needed and the Instaboom GSX barrier does this through a laser set at the desired height of 4.9 m.
If the laser is broken, the barrier comes down within seconds and stops the vehicle from coming close to the overhead service.
The barrier is fully solar powered so it does not rely on mains charging. Even in winter it can operate up to 100+ times a day.
This is a passive safety system which stays dormant until needed, does not need an operator and requires little maintenance.
If the barrier does come down due to an over-height vehicle, the driver has to call a number and a human interface assesses that it is safe to proceed
