Institution of Civil Engineers’ Educational Resources

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) hosts a number of educational resources on their website, offering contractors ideas for engaging young people with engineering careers.

The resources include:

  • The ‘Bridges to Schools’ activity involves bringing a 12m long model of a cable-stayed bridge to your school, so pupils can build, walk across and deconstruct it.
  • A game for young children where they spot the civil engineering projects in a picture of a town.
  • A filtering water challenge from Tomorrow’s Engineers.
  • Videos on a variety of topics including an introduction to civil engineering, famous examples of engineering and the work of ICE.
  • Presentations on what is civil engineering and how to become an engineer.
