Klaxon Warning System

Ensuring the security of the site is a primary concern to eliminate safety risks to the workforce, visitors and members of the public.

A construction site can be a busy place and extra care must be taken when visitors or members of the public are near the works.

The example below shows how a site ensured the safety of residents was given high priority:

  • Following concerns for the tenant’s safety whilst walking under the scaffold, a safety induction was given to tenants to encourage them to make themselves known when passing by the site;
  • A klaxon is given to the tenants to use when leaving the property;
  • Any workers on the scaffold hearing this would stop work and observe the tenant;
  • In addition, all workers were advised to stop work when visitors approached the property.

The introduction of this system was welcomed by the client and has given the tenants greater peace of mind for their safety and the safety of their visitors.
