Lapel Microphones and Recording System

This contractor has mandated that all slinger, signallers and crane lift supervisors are to have lapel microphones and speaker attachments for their allocated radio’s/PPE and all of the communication channels are recorded.

This communication initiative aims to increase safety when lifting to ensure clear communication channels, with the recording system they will be able to monitor this practice and highlight or address any areas which may require improvement in order to promote safer lifting operations.

The positioning of the microphone and speaker helps to allow for clearer communication. This is located near to the operatives ear which provides for clearer sound in comparison to when they use handheld radios.
