Learning Driver Operator

A Learning Driver Operator (LDO) is a program that establishes requirement for new machine drivers. LDO’s must be assigned a mentor for the duration of the LDO period. The management of the project are responsible for assigning their most experienced drivers as mentors.

The LDO program provides new personnel guidance to insure they understand site layout, equipment and systems onsite to allow them to work safely.

The program lasts for at least 3 months and during this time the LDO must wear a green hardhat as a recognition system that shall be in place to easily identify personnel assigned as LDO.
