Main Contractor and Subcontractor Best Practice and Shared Learning Meetings

After Kier (Main contractor) had a virtual CCS site monitors visit and Gworks (Subcontractor) had their first virtual company visit it was discussed as a team that we had the opportunity to learn a lot of best practice for each side. Both scored highly in their respective reports and each party felt that they had something that they could offer, better understanding of the CCS and the small differences between company and site monitoring and also where we could help each other moving forward.

The virtual meeting was set up between Kier and Gworks. Each then described what CCS monitoring looked like and then reviewed the latest CCS monitors reports for shared best practices and improvements that could be made.

Kier due to the size of company and years of being part of the CCS could help advise on opportunities to further develop the score and Gworks were able to help Kier site team understand what is required during a company CCS monitors visit.

Both agreed that the meeting was massively beneficial and will arrange future meetings to discuss the scheme. It was also great as part of the meeting the ‘CCS champions’ for the two companies now are linked and can work to improve sites over the regional area.
