Maintaining a good exterior by considering the appearance of smoking

The appearance of your site is vital to providing the community with a good first impression as well as demonstrating that you are a caring, considerate constructor.

Site managers should take pride in both the external and internal appearance of their site.

Measures should be implemented to establish and maintain an excellent appearance.

Careful consideration also needs to be given to the appearance of smoking and cigarette butts on and around site:

  • External metal ash trays were fitted on to the hoardings around the site perimeter;
  • This was a useful measure implemented for passers-by to discourage cigarette butts being disposed of on the floor around site, which could create a messy, negative external appearance.
