How do we deliver a meaningful and practical course which complies to the CITB requirements for minimum environmental training.
SEATS – Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme is CITB accredited but it allows for up to 20% of the material to be developed specifically for your company.
At Vinci Construction UK – the course was developed with specific case studies of sites from facilities, building and rail and civils sectors. It signposted supervisors to resources specific to our company – such as intranet links – VCUK environmental targets and objectives.
In addition to this an environmental staff member was prescribed into the course content – to promote environmental presence and resource for help within our organisation.
As well as delivering the course content for environmental awareness we enabled our staff to put their learning into practice within our company framework.
So far in 2016 – 174 Supervisor level staff have been through the VCUK SEATS course and many now take an active role in managing environmental best practice on site. The environmental team have had calls from various projects – asking questions or further advice.
Specialising the course content is an innovation we would highly recommend to any organisation rolling out SEATS in their organisation.
This course is now available to our supply chain supervisory staff – and new supply chain agreements will require this level of environmental training for all site supervisory staff.
