Making toilet facilities more accessible

The workforce should be provided with appropriate welfare facilities.

The nature of the construction industry often requires the workforce to be transient, working either alone or in areas of temporary working situations as well as often having to undertake short and frequent work in remote locations.

In extreme cases, where it is not possible to provide facilities on site, appropriate efforts to support the needs of your employees is essential.

Below is an example of how sites have made toilet facilities more accessible, for these circumstances:

  • An app called ‘Flush’ was introduced to the workforce’s iPads and phones;
  • This app can be used to help the workforce locate local toilets;
  • It is also available for both Apple and Android devices.

To access the app on the Apple store, click here.
