Managing health and safety issues: Helmet with a video camera

Safety issues on site which threaten the wellbeing of your employees should never be ignored.

Health and safety issues should be monitored, managed and reviewed regularly.

Below is an example of how a site ensured that no health and safety issues were being overlooked:

  • A ‘Go Pro’ helmet with a video camera was introduced;
  • This was shared with managers and subcontract supervisors each day, to concentrate on ‘don’t walk by’ issues as they toured the site;
  • As many as eight managers / supervisors could wear this during the course of the day;
  • Video clips were discussed at daily meetings with relevant issues highlighted.
