Managing Social Distancing during Coronavirus

As part of their new management obligations on the Holborough Lakes project due to the coronavirus pandemic, they have to ensure social distancing as stated by governments guidelines is adhered to.

Collectively they have started a ‘THINK 2M’ campaign which is an open statement designed to help the staff and visitors think of:

  • Think: How does social distancing affect them
  • Think: What impact could they have if they don’t consider social distancing
  • Think: Impact on the NHS

To reiterate the message around site they have displayed posters on hoarding, welfare and compound areas.

They have also used stencils to mark out 2 metre boxes around site which will give individuals the concept of how big a 2 metre square is. Included in this box is a Berkeley Homes logo and a Considerate Constructors Scheme logo.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
