Medical School Scholarships to Support University Students

Ahead of the very first intake of medical students to the new School of Medicine, at Ulster University’s Magee campus, this contractor pledged to support the careers of two future doctors. Two local students benefited from full scholarships for the entire life span of their degree programme, lasting four years.

These scholarships will widen access, in supporting the education and future careers of those who are less likely to progress to Graduate Entry Medicine programmes due to financial, social and logistical barriers.

In funding Scholarships, the contractor will positively impact and build a better future for the local community, support upskilling of local talented people and leave a legacy by providing a vital and enduring service in our community.

This partnership presents opportunities for those who may face barriers to developing their vocation for a career in medicine and students who previously could not apply to medical school can now access and achieve the qualifications needed to become a doctor.
