Monday 11th June to Friday 15th June 2018 was Men’s Health Week, and the Roadbridge teams across our projects in Scotland and England took the opportunity to mark the occasion and raise some money for charity along the way. Diabetes was the focus of this year’s week.
Our safety team implemented an awareness programme in every site, from putting up posters in canteens, welfare facilities, and offices; to adding the topic to the agenda for the weekly stand-downs and Tool Box Talks.
Roadbridge prepared men’s care packages (consisting of a basket of men’s grooming products) to raffle off on each site, with entries costing £1 each. The idea behind this was to show that behind the macho façade, men need to look after themselves as well.
At the end of the week, each site drew a winner from the raffle entries, as can be seen here.
Roadbridge are delighted with the response from the sites and to date over £250 has been raised. Next year, we plan to roll out this initiative across all sites throughout Ireland as well.
Well done again to all the teams for your efforts to raise much needed funds for worthy causes and to the deserved winners.
