Mental Health Week Workforce Picnics

Mental health is an important part of health and safety on all of this contractors projects. For Mental Health Week they engaged with the workforce by organising picnics across the whole month.

Each site manager took up to 5 people for a picnic in the green spaces around site – in keeping with the theme of ‘Nature’ for Mental Health Week. A total of 65 operatives joined them across the month.

Packed lunches were freshly prepared by the canteen team, to enjoy by the Thames with strictly no work talk allowed. This activity helped get the workforce involved, release stress and help the much needed bond between the project team and the site operatives. They have received extremely positive feedback and everyone had a great time.

In addition, 2 more team members have received MFHA training in July, with a total of 7 Mental Health First Aiders on the project. Four of their project team MHFAs are also underground counselling skills training to further equip them with the key skills required for their role.
